Triple Bristle Toothbrush Review- Brush in 1/3 of the Time!

If you know me at all, you know I am always trying the latest dental products. So when I heard of the three sided toothbrush, I just knew I had to put in my two cents. Does a three sided toothbrush actually brush in all of the right spots? It is angled correctly? Is it comfortable? So many questions. It intrigued me to my core.

These questions could only be answered if I bought one myself and put it to the test. So I went on the hunt to find the best three sided toothbrush on the market. So here you have it, my Triple Bristle Toothbrush review.

There has been a lot of buzz lately about three sided toothbrushes. I must say as a dental hygienist, I have been intrigued for quite some time now. I can just imagine how helpful these toothbrushes could be to someone who has a hard time brushing properly. Elderly, special needs and children were among my first thoughts. I would imagine it could serve as a wonderful toothbrush for anyone who is looking to step up their oral hygiene routine.

Proper brushing and flossing is key to maintaining healthy gums and teeth. Without good oral home care, you can develop gum disease and cavities.

According to the CDC, dental caries (cavities) are the most common chronic disease of children aged 6 to 19 years old. As far as adults, 9 out of 10 people over the age of 20 have some sort of cavities. I would love to say that I am surprised by these stats but unfortunately, I am not.

After many years of practicing in the dental field, I have come to realize that most people don’t properly care for their teeth and gums. Even after great chair-side oral hygiene instruction, some people still cannot grasp proper brushing techniques. Aside from not understanding how to properly brush their teeth, some people may know how but just not care enough to put in the effort to properly brushing their teeth.

There are also a number of people who are physically unable to properly brush their teeth. This could be because of special needs, disability or other reasons.

According to the ADHD, the average person spends only 45 seconds brushing and caring for their teeth. This is well below the average recommended time of 2 minutes.

So in steps the three sided triple bristle toothbrush to save the day.

Now onto my Triple Bristle toothbrush review.

Triple Bristle Toothbrush Review

I studied the different designs, functions and features of several different three sided toothbrushes before choosing the perfect one. The triple bristle toothbrush is designed by a dentist and carefully perfected to have a bristle design that brushes all areas of the teeth and gums in just 1/3 of the time.

I was a little skeptical at first that this toothbrush would really clean as efficiently as it says. After testing it out myself, I must say I was blown away. I immediately messaged the company to let them know what a wonderful product they came out with. This uniquely designed toothbrush can help so many different types of people.

I will definitely be suggesting this for my many of my patients. I work at a pediatric practice and we see many special needs and autistic patients. This toothbrush would do wonders for them!

The triple bristle toothbrush has 3 soft toothbrush heads. One brush head is on the top to clean the chewing surface of your teeth. The other two brush heads are designed to point at a 45 degree angle along your teeth and perfectly sweep along your gum line. This bristle design literally has the toothbrush bristles “hugging” all sides of your teeth at one time.

The gum line is a very common area for people to miss plaque when brushing. When plaque sits on the gum line too long, it will eventually produce irritants that irritate the gum line causing gum disease. This toothbrush design cleans exactly where you need to be cleaning to avoid leaving plaque behind.

The triple bristle toothbrush has 3 modes. High mode, sensitive mode and massage mode. If you have not used a sonic toothbrush, I always recommend starting with sensitive mode and working your way up. Sonic toothbrushes can take some getting used to. Some people may feel they “tickle” a little. The triple bristle toothbrush has a powerful 31,000 sonic vibrations per minute. This is great for blasting away plaque, food and bacteria.

Sonic toothbrushes are the best type of toothbrush to use as they actually clean beyond the bristles. You can read more about sonic toothbrushes and what makes them so much more effective in this article. Also be sure to check out 20 reasons why sonic toothbrushes are better.

It is recommended to brush your teeth for at least 2 minutes twice per day. That is why the triple bristle brush automatically has a 2 minute built in timer. It also has a quadrant timer that pauses every 30 seconds to let you know when to move to a different section of your mouth.

With all of that being said, the amazing three sided brush design does allow for proper brushing in less amount of time if you truly wish. Since the three sided toothbrush brushes all sides of a tooth at once, just glide the toothbrush over each section of your mouth for 10 seconds each while ignoring the pause timer. This has you efficiently brushing your teeth in 40 seconds as opposed to the standard 2 minutes.

Now the dental hygienist in me still recommends to brush for 2 minutes. So in my opinion if you take this toothbrush and use it for 2 full minutes, you are getting the efficiency of brushing your teeth for 8 minutes.

So you choose, 4 times the brushing efficiency for the same 2 minutes. Or you could also choose to brush in 1/3 the time and still get the same efficiency as brushing for 2 minutes. All that may sound crazy to you, but it is just the way my hygienist brain works.

I also thought it was cool to note the brush indicator brush heads. The toothbrushes have a blue stripe on them that wears away as the brush head ages. Once it is faded to white, it indicates it is time to change to a new brush head.

Triple Bristle Toothbrush Subscription

Speaking of changing your brush head. Triple Bristle offers a convenient subscription brush head replacement program. How to use a Triple Bristle Sonic Toothbrush

This toothbrush is so simple for anyone to use. It really takes the guess work out of how to properly brush.

  1. Place toothpaste in the middle of the toothbrush bristles
  2. You simply start on one side of the mouth and place the brush on the teeth until you feel the toothbrush bristles touching the gums as well.
  3. Push the on button on the toothbrush. The setting begins in high mode so keep hitting the button to adjust to your desired setting.
  4. Simply glide the toothbrush along your teeth slowly. Let the toothbrush do the work for you. Glide all along all of your teeth. The bristles will naturally brush all the areas you should be brushing correctly for you. Note: When you get to the front of your mouth, you may have to adjust your positioning. You may have to change directions on the way you are handling the toothbrush so a hard part of the brush doesn’t hit your gums.

Triple Bristle Go Sonic Toothbrush

The Triple Bristle Go toothbrush is not a rechargeable toothbrush. It runs on 2 AA batteries. This has the same amazing bristle design as the other version but for a more affordable price. You can also get a subscription plan with this toothbrush.

Hey Kelly! I’m a fellow RDH. I am a BURST ambassador and huge fan. But I have an autistic son and possibly another son presenting the same symptoms. My son pockets food and has sensory issues. Needless to say brushing is a task. He tolerates the BURST well but I recently bought him a Triple Brush to try to combat some of the time issues during the day. He had occlusal caries we treated with SDF. I used it myself trying to determine how well it did. My question is this- how effective is it at brushing the occlusal surface? It seemed great facial and lingual. Also, do you still recommend it 4 years later? Thanks!!! I would love to hear an answer from another dental professional as I personally do not know anyone else who has tried this.
