Water flosser for better oral health

I am so obsessed with water flossing and you should be too. If you haven’t tried it yet, get to it!

It sends bursts of water through your teeth and your gums to help flush out food debris, plaque and bacteria.

It is like flossing but with blasts of water swishing between your teeth. It helps to irrigate the gum pockets and wash away all the bad germs in all those hard to reach areas. It feels so good, like a gum massage. Your teeth feel absolutely amazing afterwards.

Water flossers are super easy to use and they are affordable too. One time purchase of a water flosser and then after that, all you need is water to make it work.

ToothShower Review by a dental hygienist

Okay so now you know why I love water flossers so much, time for the ToothShower review.

When I first heard there was a water flosser for the shower, I knew I had to get one. After all, the watery mess is the main thing that bugs me (and most others) about water flossing. A shower flosser is a PERFECT solution.

Oh and not to mention, things on my counter drive me nuts, so this takes literally all the mess out of the equation.

I may never forget to floss again. It is honestly too easy.

I always tell patients that when you hide your floss in a drawer, it gets easily forgotten or skipped over. I tell them to keep it out on the counter so you see it and it will remind you to floss. Even then, people are still too tired or lazy to do it. Floss is often an “out of sight, out of mind” kinda thing.

But with the ToothShower, it is almost impossible to skip. You are already in the shower so it is so easy and quick to do it right then and there. You aren’t having to get out extra equipment or make a mess.

I really feel like even as a dental hygienist that this will drastically improve mine and my families oral health. We face the same flossing challenges as you all do. My kids don’t want to spend the extra time to floss either. But the ToothShower is changing all of that for us.

The ToothShower is super easy to set up. Okay, okay, you caught me…. it was easy for my husband to set up, ha. I read him the instructions while he set it up.

The first step was to clean off the shower wall with rubbing alcohol and then apply the mount to the wall and let it sit for 24 hours.

After he did that, he then unhooked our shower head and replaced it with the included diverter. He used this and the included plumbers tape to seal off the connection. I watched him and even though I had him do it, I could have easily done it myself. That says a lot because I am pretty handyman challenged. Instructions and set up was super easy.

Endless water is ALWAYS flowing to the shower flosser. This is perfect because with my other water flossers (especially cordless ones), I have to constantly stop and refill them in the middle of my flossing session. This can be aggravating. So the fact that I can floss my teeth as long as I want without being rushed is awesome.

You have a lever that will turn the shower on and off. I personally prefer to have the shower off so I get full water pressure to the ToothShower.

After you get the shower flosser all set up, that is it. There is a pressure dial so you can adjust how much pressure and water flow goes to your ToothShower.

ToothShower Tips

toothshower standard tip

I got the single unit to try but will be buying more tips for the rest of the family to use. It came with a standard water flosser tip that is designed to flush water through your gum pockets and between your teeth.

I love this feeling but I had to make sure I had the shower off and all water flow going to the water flosser. If I did not have it on full power, it tickled too much. But when I cranked up the power, it was perfect for me!

toothshower gum massager

The single unit also comes with a gum massager tip which is one of my favorites! It has 7 streams of water that blast all through your teeth and gums. This is my favorite because it doesn’t tickle as much as the standard tip. I feel like it gets everything so clean!

toothshower toothbrush shower toothbrush

The final tip that came with the ToothShower single unit was the dual headed toothbrush. Now this thing is COOL. So stinking cool. It blasts water through the toothbrush and has bristles on both sides. So it cleans all around your gums, on the cheek side of your teeth and on the tongue side of your teeth. It is honestly kind of dummy proof!

I like to do all 3 tips in my routine. I feel like they all serve a different purpose. I really feel like this on top of a normal hygiene routine is going to improve oral health drastically. It’s spending several extra minutes per day focusing on teeth and gum cleaning.

The ToothShower suite would be perfect for anyone especially braces or those with sensitive teeth and gums.

There are compartments to store all of your different tips in. Leave them open so that way everything can dry properly and stay clean.

I will def be ordering my husband and kids their own tips so we can all enjoy the great benefits of using this awesome shower water flosser.

ToothShower Review Cons

I really don’t see any cons to this product at all. I suppose if I absolutely HAD to pick something to change, I would like a little more water pressure on the highest setting. Although this maybe do to the pressure you already have in your shower? Not really sure. It is enough but sometimes I like a more high pressure cleaning.
